ExperienceI am proud to say I have been enthusiastic about learning throughout my life, and I have a particular fondness for languages. When I was 13, I began studying German, and later began to study Japanese as well. I studied both of these languages in graduate school, and taught German 101, 102, and 103 during that time. In addition, I am certified to teach English as a second language, and have spent two years in Japan teaching English. I also spent a year living with a family in Switzerland, which is a German-speaking nation. My main goal when teaching is to motivate the students to learn the subject. If I can motivate the students to be interested in the topic, it will be much easier for them to be interested and thus, motivated to continue to learn. When it comes to learning a new language, I think it's important to balance the time that a student is listening, as opposed to reading, and speaking, as opposed to writing.Aside from foreign languages, I am comfortable tutoring study skills and organization, as well as basic topics in science and English. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, running, swimming, art, music, and of course, learning new languages!
